Watercoloured Poppy with textured background

Hello there, it is Verity here from Pretty Little Button for the Bumbleberry Design team. With a bit more time on your hands, now might be the time to get our your watercolour paints and practice. That's what I decided to do with the Altenew Paint-a-flower Poppy stamp set, and I loved how well it came out that I used it in today's card. I paired the soft colouring with a bold colour on the background and added some soft texture to elevate the image.  Written and photos Watercoloured Poppy with textured background:  To start off, stamp the Altenew Paint-a-flower Poppy onto...

Creating masculine and feminine birthday card sets

Hello there, it is Verity here from Pretty Little Button for the Bumbleberry Design team. Today’s post is all about creating two sets of birthday cards using the same techniques, but one tailored more as masculine and the other more feminine. What’s more, I’ve also created a box for each set so these could easily be given as a gift set for someone to use so make sure you check those out at the end. Quick watercoloured CAS Card

Hello there, it is Verity here from Pretty Little Button for the Bumbleberry Design team. There are some cards where quick colouring works better than detailed colouring, and this card is one of them. Although this stamp has a lot of detail and is delicate, you could spend quite a while no-line watercolouring it. However, as it is a small stamp, quick colouring is better if you're not a great colourist. This stamp also works well on a CAS card, and I'm showing you how this is done in today's post.  Written and photos Quick watercoloured CAS Card:  To start off, add...

Hello there, it is Verity here from Pretty Little Button for the Bumbleberry Design team. Watercolour is one of my favourite colouring mediums to use when it comes to floral stamps. But when it came to the background, I wanted a soft wash as though the watercolours from the flowers were bleeding out. Watercolour bleed background technique allows you to softly build colour around the flowers in the background before going back in to define the flowers.  Video Tutorial Watercolour Bleed background: Written and photos Watercolour Bleed background: The stamp set I'm using is the Altenew Sketchy Floral stamp set and has a lovely large floral...

No-line watercolour Darling Lily

Hello there, it is Verity here from Pretty Little Button for the Bumbleberry Design team. I have a lovely no-line watercolour Lily card today and I've used a Gina K Amalgam ink which is perfect for this technique. Gina K came out with a selection of amalgam colours that could be used for no-line colouring with your watercolours, alcohol inks and pencils so it is a very versatile ink! You can easily adapt this card for any occasion, and could even make lovely thinking of you card.  Written and photos No-line watercolour Darling Lily: To start off trim a piece of smooth...
