Inspired by the colour of the year!

Hello there, it is Verity here from Pretty Little Button for the Bumbleberry Design team. The Pantone colour of the year is Magenta, and it inspired this trio of cards. The closest coloured cardstock I had in my stash is Hero Hues Azalea, which is more of a fuchsia pink than magenta, but I went with it and love how these three cards turned out. When creating with bold colours I like to choose a colour to soften and contrast against it and I think the colours paired beautifully with it. So let's get started!

Start with die-cutting the foliage to go onto the front of the card. I used 3 die-sets to created added variation, but you can use just one set if you prefer. Here die-cut Sealed Blooms, Sealed Flowers and Sealed Leaf Sprigs from Spellbinders out of Azalea, Nautical and Peony Hero Hues cardstock.

Add the flower die-cuts to the leaf springs with contrasting colours to make them pop. To create the backgrounds, you can use glimmer plates to dry emboss without foil do subtle tone on tone texture.

Dry emboss using the correct sandwich on your die-cutting machine the PinkFresh Studio Geo Arch Glimmer plate with Nautical Hero Hues cardstock. Trim this down and to a cardbase out of the same colour.

Do the same with the Pagonia Crafty Meraki Glimmer plate onto Peony Hero Hues and PinkFresh Art Deco Glimmer plate onto Azalea Hero Hues.

Using Altenew Metallic 14 Pan watercolour set, add gold paint splatters to the cardbase. With a piece of black twine, create a bouquet of die-cuts in a mix of colours, making sure the colour of cardbase is less frequent in each bouquet. Adhere each bouquet onto the cardbase with liquid glue.

Heat emboss 3 sentiments from the Versatile Vases 2 stamp set onto strips of contrasting coloured cardstock and foam mount onto the front of the cards. Lastly, embellish with gold sequin discs to finish the card.
