Quick watercoloured CAS Card

Hello there, it is Verity here from Pretty Little Button for the Bumbleberry Design team. There are some cards where quick colouring works better than detailed colouring, and this card is one of them. Although this stamp has a lot of detail and is delicate, you could spend quite a while no-line watercolouring it. However, as it is a small stamp, quick colouring is better if you're not a great colourist. This stamp also works well on a CAS card, and I'm showing you how this is done in today's post.

To start off, add a piece of watercolour card to your MISTI stamping platform and place both of the floral stamps from the set on top of the paper. Next, stamp this in soft grey ink and make sure you leave the stamps on the MISTI door.

Move the watercolour card out of the MISTI and using a clean brush, apply clear water over the top of the florals. Next, using the Altenew 36 watercolour pan set, drop-in colours over the florals and the leaves. This doesn't have to be neat, and you can add dark shades in the middle. The water will blend the colours out and as it is a small stamp it will look artistic.

Once you're happy with the watercolouring, make sure the paper is dry before you place the paper back into your MISTI in the original position. If you're unsure if it is dry enough, cover with embossing powder and if any powder clings to the image then it isn't dry enough yet. When you're ready, stamp the images once more over the watercolourig in clear embossing ink. Next, cover with gold embossing powder and heat set.

Using the coordinating dies, die-cut both of the florals out. Next, adhere the smaller floral with foam pads over the corresponding floral in the bunch to give dimension.

For the background, use the Altenew Broken Chevron stencil to dry emboss a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar white 80lb card stock according to your die-cutting machine. You'll need a silicone rubber embossing mat for this. Once embossed, adhere this to a white cardbase.

For the sentiment when need to create the circle plaque. Using Hero Arts Nesting Infinity circle dies, die-cut a circle out of Gina K Soft Stone cardstock. To create the frame, take a die two sizes small, along with the additional die a further two sizes small and adhere together with low tack tape. Die-cut this frame out of white card and adhere to the grey circle with Gina K Connect glue.

Next, place the circle sentiment plaque into your MISTI stamping tool and position the sentiment from the stamp set withinside the frame. You may wish to temporarily place the floral over the top to best determine the position of the floral. Heat embossed the sentiment in gold embossing powder.

To assemble, adhere the circle plaque onto the card with the floral adhere offset to one side. Lastly, embellish with a few sequins to finish the card off.
