Layered Dahlia Stencil Set (Altenew) by Jen Kray

Altenew Dahlia distress ink Distress Oxides Jen Kray Nuvo Stencil

Morning friends! Today I have the pleasure to share a ton of cards I
made using the Altenew Dahlia Layered Stencil Set A and Set B. I've never
used these types of stencils before but oh my goodness they are beautiful!
I also used Altenew Never Give Up Stamp Set which is one of my favourite
Sentiment Sets ever!

I started with the very basic application using Stencil A then B. See
below for Stencil A and Stencil B on their own using Mustard Seed
Distress Ink and a mixture of Picked Raspberry and Abandoned Coral Oxides.

And then Stencil A+B = Dahlia

I started playing with colours to see what combinations look good and I
was surprised that they were all fantastic! Here is a card using Distress
Oxides, Worn Lipstick and Picked Raspberry,

I also used Salty Ocean and Black Soot Distress Oxides
and the result was amazing. Doesn't it look beautiful!

After a few more cards and backgrounds I was ready to move on. Out
came the Indian Gold Nuvo Embellishment Mousse which was applied
on top of Distress Oxides and it worked a treat!

I then took it further and used Embellishment Mousse and Expanding
Mousse to create a funky panel. I've not made anything with this yet but
I'll be turning this into some sort of tag. I just ADORE the texture.

And then I went a little crazy and added Glitter and Embossing Powder to
Embellishment Mousse and Expanding Mousse! It's a very dramatic effect.
The picture really doesn't do it justice as it sparkles and shines so much.

After I'd been playing a couple hours I decided to grab
my Nuvo Aqua Flows and see if I could get a little arty
so I coloured directly onto stencil A and wiped the ink
from the stencil into the white space using a baby wipe.
It is a lovely soft effect.

Not able to leave it there, I grabbed Stencil B and coloured directly onto
the front of the stencil - so the reverse of what you'd normally do. After
misting the stencil with water, I placed it on a piece of watercolour
cardstock and smooshed it down. Wow, it looks amazing and you can
really see some of the detail. Definitely my favourite card of the set -
I'll have to try reverse stencilling again!

As a little duo of cards these are brilliant, a little inky messy and arty.
Something really different.

And another little photo showing the Nuvo Aqua Flow Pens - Aqua
Splash and Flamingo Pink.

By now I'd made so many backgrounds and cards an entire dozen! With
a single stencil set! The card on the right was made from my original
colour combination at the beginning of this blog post.

These are some of the best stencils I have ever used and would
highly recommend them whether you are use to using stencils or not
- they are simply fabulous!

I hope you've enjoyed my post today and I'll see you next week.
Lots of love and hugs
Jen xx
