Easy water-colouring with die-cuts - Catherine Pooler Peony In Bloom Cover Plate die

Hello there, it is Verity here from Pretty Little Button for the Bumbleberry Design team. For these cards you don't need to be an expert at watercolouring to make them. Having said that, you don't need to have done any watercolouring before to create these 2-for-1 card. This easy watercolouring with die-cuts packs such punch but is so simple to make you'll be using this technique over and over again. I've used the beautiful Peony In Bloom cover plate die from Catherine Pooler, but you can create with any cover plate die you have!

Start off by adding clean clear water to a piece of watercolour cardstock. Make sure this panel is larger than the cover plate die for use to cut with it later.

Next, start to add a purples and blues towards the top of the panel - these will move in the water paper we have created and blend together on their own. Keep positioning the cover plate over the top to ensure your adding enough colour in the right area for the bloom.

After this, do the same with some greens to colour the leaves and stalk. Once it is dry, die-cut with the Peony In Bloom Cover plate die, lining the die up with the corresponding colours.

As I mentioned this is a two for one card, so before your remove all the negative die-cuts, add glue to the back of these and adhere down on to a white card panel.

You can then also adhere the outline down onto another white card panel. The sentiments come from the Abundantly Blessed Sentiment stamp set and were heat embossed in white on to black card.

Foam mount the sentiments onto the front of the cards, and then embellish with sequins to finish the cards off.
