Creating with muted tones - Catherine Pooler Spa Inks & Altenew stamps/dies

Hello there, it is Verity here from Pretty Little Button for the Bumbleberry Design team. If you're new to Catherine Pooler Inks you may have missed the new release of inks in ink collection. Catherine Pooler Design has two collections of ink - the Party collection which is a vibrant collection of ink colours. Or the Spa Collection of inks which are more muted tones of ink. The new colours released in the Beach Retreat release are part of the Spa collection. So these inks are muted, and have grey tones within the colours. Today i'm creating with muted tone inks to show you how you can use them to create impact whilst still remaining elegant.

For this card, we're using the Altenew Book Engravings stamp & die set. Start off stamping the flowers and leaves in Black Jack Ink - soft black ink from Catherine Pooler Designs. Next, use the Tranquil Ink for the first layer of the small flowers.

For the second layer on the small flowers, stamp this in Cove Blue ink as well as stamping in this colour with the first layer of the larger flower. To finish the larger flower, stamp the last layer in Juniper Mist - this ink is an older colour, but as it is in the Spa collection of inks, it pairs beautifully with the other colours. The inners of the flowers were stamped with Shea Butter ink.

The leaves were stamped in the new Sea Glass ink, a lovely dark muted green, pairing well with the other colours. For the background, stamp the Whimsical Herringbone stamp in Tranquil ink onto white card. Trim this down and foam mount onto a card base made out of Nautical Hero Hues cardstock.

Next, use the coordinating dies to cut the flowers/leaves out. Foam mount these onto the card cluster to one side. For the sentiment, stamp a small 'Hello' onto black card and add to the flower cluster. Lastly finish with a few White Nuvo Gloss drops.
