Hey lovelies!
It was my mum's birthday on Friday, she's just as obsessed with dogs as I am so what better set to use for her card than the adorable "Oh Crumbs" stamp set from Heffy Doodle?! As soon as I saw this set I knew it was a must have, the corgis are just the sweetest and I love how you even have the option for spinner cards with the front and back end of one of them!
Any time I get a new stamp set I always start by stamping the entire thing out so I have plenty to colour before deciding which images I want to work with, I use my Misti to do this as I find it's quick and easy to stamp an entire set out at once. I coloured up one of the corgis and some of the extras with my alcohol markers. I added some white highlights and details with a gel pen before fussy cutting them out.
I used the largest scalloped stitched die from Mama Elephant's "Framed Tags" Waverly Creative Cuts to cut a panel from heavy weight white card stock. I blended my background over the Altenew "Watercolor Stripes" Stencil, using Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink on the outside edges and blending Spun Sugar Distress Oxide ink in the centre. I sprayed my panel lightly with my distress sprayer and cleaned up the excess water with a paper towel.
I cut a circle from white card stock using Honey Bee Stamps' "Double Stitched Circles" Honey Cuts and lightly blended the edges with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink. I secured my circle in to my Misti and prepared it with my powder tool applicator. I stamped the "Oh Crumbs!" part of my sentiment directly on to my circle, coated it in clear embossing powder and set it with my heat tool. While the melted embossing powder was still hot I covered it with embossing powder again and heat set it, to give it a smoother and more raised effect.
I cut a small strip of white card stock down to fit my second half of my sentiment and used Versafine Onyx Black ink once again to stamp it, however I didn't choose to heat emboss this part.
I cut a panel of white card stock using the largest of Mama Elephant's "Basic Rectangles" Creative cuts and blending from the outside in using Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink. I adhered both of my panels together using 1/2" Scor-Tape. I adhered my circle flat to my panel and arranged my scene on top of it. I used my 1/2" Scor-Tape to adhere the teapot and sugar bowl before popping my other images up with 3M Scotch Double Sided Foam Tape. I finished up by popping my sentiment strip up with foam tape too and adhering my panel to my card base with Scor-Tape.
Thanks for reading lovelies! Is there a specific stamp category you have a weakness for? For me anything with dogs or food feels like a must have, which made this one impossible to resist for me! I'll be back next week with another card, see you then!
